September Blog Preview

September is shaping up to be another busy month for Shawn Lam Video.

Here is just a peak at some of what you can expect to see on the Vancouver Video Production Blog.

WEVA Expo 2009 – September 14-17. My Expo experience is going to start with the opening gala and awards presentation, where I hope to repeat my performance of last year where I took home a Silver Creative Excellence Award. My 2009 award entry in the Theatrical Productions category can be seen here. On Wednesday I’ll be attending my 5th Presidents Council Meeting, representing the BCPVA and in additional to teaching a session on Thursday morning, I’m going to be producing a series of video blogs from WEVA for EventDV-TV. I plan on making the Google Presentation slides from my session available through this blog. Watch this link for updates.

EventDV reviews – I just completed my review of Adobe Production Premium CS4, including Premiere Pro CS4 and the speech to text recognition feature. Overall I am very impressed with the improved Dynamic Link functionality, the stand-alone nature of Adobe Media Encoder, and the improved performance on a 64 bit O/S. Watch for the review in print and online in October – I’ll post a link here as well.

Up next for December is a review of video camera cranes and I will be testing the Kessler KC-8 and KC-Lite 8.0 models.
